Greenpaw is part of UK registered charity Green Paw Project (Charity number: 1166316). Greenpaw provides a platform for people and organisations to help restore degraded lands caused by human activity, bringing back vital biodiversity.
Greenpaw partners with projects that apply ecological design principles to regenerate entire ecosystems, restoring them to a thriving, biodiverse state while supporting local communities, Indigenous tribes, and traditional peoples. You can help by donating a one-off or monthly amount, or by becoming carbon neutral using our calculator. Your carbon donations are used to lock in carbon by planting new shrubs and trees to regenerate ecosystems to their original natural state.
Navigating the urgent global climate challenge, Greenpaw’s holistic regeneration strategy sets it apart. At present, Greenpaw receives most of its donations through various land regenerative carbon offsetting projects. Every project in Greenpaw’s portfolio undergoes a rigorous environmental and social impact assessment, underscoring our commitment to a global strategy of sustainable, transparent, and ecological restoration. By planting trees, plants, and shrubs, our meticulous grading system covers comprehensive areas: improving soil and water quality, mitigating carbon emissions, conserving biodiversity, producing edible foods, and enriching communities.
Greenpaw has developed its own verification framework tailored for small to medium-scale land regeneration projects. This framework is designed to ensure authenticity, effectiveness, and sustainability. Find out more about or whole-systems verification here.
Carbon levels in the atmosphere are exponentially rising. Co2e is the primary greenhouse gas. The rise in carbon is caused by many factors such as use of fossil fuels, agriculture, fast fashion, air travel and deforestation. Rising Co2e causes the planet to heat up and accelerate climate change.
Greenpaw is part of Green Paw Project, a UK registered charity.
Green Paw Project was founded by Stephen Chesters back in November 2015 out of a passion for animal welfare and the environment. Over the years, Green Paw Project has successfully carried out several projects across the world from spaying and neutering street dogs and cats, to dog rehabilitation, to earthquake emergency care, to mass litter picking conservation in the UK.
Between the years of 2017 to 2020 Stephen and the Green Paw Project team had their sights on plans to build an animal sanctuary in Malawi, Africa. Then the pandemic hit and this changed the direction in its entirety. During this time of reflection Green Paw Project changed plans from setting up an animal sanctuary in Malawi and focused its plans on regenerating lands, protecting the worlds forest/rainforests and protecting as much biodiversity as possible.
Why did we change our direction? Right now, the world faces a potential mass extinction with vast quantities of biodiversity and tree/plant life being wiped out indefinitely causing the rise of carbon throughout the atmosphere, wild weather, depletion of oxygen levels and subsequently a threat upon humanity itself.
Green Paw Project has now partnered with ecological expert, Oli Smithies to help with the resistance of climate change and preventing the destruction of our forests/trees/plants and the demise of biodiversity.
In 2023 The Green Paw Project expanded, launching Greenpaw. Simultaneously during these years, Green Paw Project has carried out several beach clean ups in the UK, and also has plans to create a hub of conservation activities and education with Green Paw Hive.
The journey continues….
It is our duty and responsibility as caretakers of the earth to undo the destruction of lands across the worlds lands that we have caused from deforestation, agriculture and other factors such as fast fashion.
How can you help? Primarily reducing your carbon footprint by making lifestyle changes, and then also offsetting the carbon footprint you make each month via Greenpaw.
By offsetting your carbon footprint you are helping regenerate landscapes and aid in the protection of current forest ecosystems. Which are fundamental in the future of planet earth, its species and for you and your family.
Use our calculator to work out yours, your business or your families carbon footprint.
