Human Reconnection Campaign
Green Paw Project devotes a great deal of time to raising awareness of the human connection with the natural world. A disconnection to the natural world has a huge negative impact on the wildlife inhabitants.
There was once a time when all of humanity lived alongside other animals and our natural world in a well-balanced ecosystem. Now many of us are cocooned in the comfortable shell of modern technology, and spend a lot of our spare time ‘plugged in’, meaning that many of us have a fragmented connection with our beautiful planet and all that inhabit it.
The majority of the modern world has lost the knowledge, ability and drive to live off the land. Most of us no longer forage, nor are we inclined to reap the rewards of sustainable living. Many of us don’t know how to grow our own fruit and vegetables anymore. Instead we rely heavily on a handful of commercial supermarkets, and have become disconnected from the realities of food production.
With the human population rising so dramatically, more and more land is being swallowed-up for agriculture. This increases the levels of greenhouse and CO2 gases, consumes much of our fresh water wastage, empties our seas, and is also the main reason why we chop down huge swathes of rainforest, ignoring that they are Earth’s lungs and home to many endangered species.
These combined issues have a very negative effect on the natural world, and damage our own wellbeing. Our Reconnection Campaign isn’t about shedding all your worldly possessions and fleeing for the nearest forest, it’s about recognising the glaring fact that everyone has an individual responsibility to take care of our beautiful planet, and all who live in it. Green Paw Project will reach out to the public via locals stalls, talks and music events.
